Felony Charges

Felony charges have multiple degrees and levels of punishment. A felony of the third-degree is punishable up to 5 years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine. A felony of the second-degree is punishable up to 15 years and/or a $10,000 fine.
A felony of the first-degree is punishable up to 30 years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine. A felony of the first-degree can also be punishable by life, (PBL) for certain specific crimes. An individual charged with a First-Degree Felony (PBL) can be sentenced to more than 30 years, but not more than their natural life, and/or a $10,000 fine. Finally, a life felony, is punishable for life, which means the natural lifetime of the individual sentenced, and/or a $15,000 fine.
